Blue Frog Philosophy

The Vision

Facilitate people in finding their true self and inner creativity with painting

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is that every one is born with natural creative talents. We have observed that childhood creativity is restricted in society and that many talented people grow to adulthood believing that they are not creative or artistic. Yet, throughout life many people yearn for some kind of creative connection or expression and don’t know where or what opportunity to seek. Many adults are shy or non-confident in believing that they would be able to paint artistically or express themselves in an imaginative way because of childhood parental disapproval or lack of encouragement. We believe that guiding and nurturing our participants in a playful, non-judgmental and fun, step-by-step painting journey that we will support the development of free artistic expression and creative confidence. And by exploring people will gain a personal power of creative development.

Our Approach

Our approach is to honor all forms of imagination and creativity and to help our participants tap into their inner creative expression.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide an environment that is free of judgment or criticism and support and facilitate people in connecting with their inner creative self with painting and expressive programs.

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a, fun, entertaining, educational and creative environment for our employees and all of our participants led by facilitators that are dedicated to the highest standards in artistic expression and creative awareness.

Sharron Ragan - Founder & Owner

"We live in a world of not saying what we feel in the moment we feel it. We cling onto eons of emotional suppression that grows like a massive swelling in our hearts blocking our relationships, sense of self, heart-felt creativity and love of life. Society often smothers our desire to be artistic and explore who we really are. We become unconfident or hesitant to engage in creative expression - it’s there - in all of us from the day we’re born - we are all creative beings." - Sharron Ragan

After retiring from two-decades of successful work as a marketing and advertising executive for some of the top companies in the nation, such as McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Coca-Cola, Sharron took her three loves and intertwined them-art, intuition and business.

Founder & Owner of Blue Frog Gallery & Art Studio, Sharron has a passion for guiding women to empowerment and facilitates and executes programs for people to learn about themselves through creative outlets. After working with Sharron in an art class or attending one of her presentations or workshops, people leave with a different perspective and a deeper, sense of their own inner creativity.

Sharron, an artist and an entrepreneur is a leading women business owner in Atlanta and will be stepping in as President of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Atlanta in October 09. She is a member of the Atlanta Artists Center and is Chairwoman of the Outside Exhibits.

Maureen (Meaux) Roe - Gallery/Studio Director

"I’m a thinker; I couldn’t find my creativity in a tangible object, I had to look for it in the ideas and thoughts surrounding my organizing people and situations. Where does your creativity manifest?" - Maureen Roe

Creativity is the guide to art therapy and Maureen is a guide to life. She’s spent much of her career helping people build solid foundations for their lives.

It’s understood that creative expression is something that gets buried in us as we go about our daily lives and Maureen is just the kind of intuitive master communicator needed to pull it out of us. She has solidarity with Blue Frog Gallery & Art Studio that many people lack with their perspective companies, a mutual preoccupation with human potential and personal growth.

She brings a skill of organization and management to create a different kind of gallery operation with a different kind of purpose. She guides and directs Blue Frog Gallery & Art Studio for creative development that’s not just another art class it’s a place to grow and express inner creativity as well as visual creativity.

Throughout her laundry list of job experience, one reoccurring theme is her dedication to nurturing people through spiritual guidance, relationship advice and ultimately, creative expression.

A Master of Science in Administration, Maureen has been involved in all aspects of business, with a meticulous for organization. Her credits include a certified coach and pastoral counselor, General Sales Manager for The Zac Team and a productivity coach/trainer for Keller Williams Realty-Premier Atlanta.

Azia Squire- Gallery Journalist & Writer

"I think writing is something that keeps us very connected to ourselves and each other. Just think about it like this, if we don’t write history down, how will we know what to do with the future?" - Azia Squire

Some people draw, others sing, Azia happens to write and started at a very young age. After spending years penning short stories, poems and everything in-between, she enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh to double-major in Philosophy and English Writing.

Though a flexible writer, her first love is fiction. And if everything goes accordingly, she’ll be a sit-at-home novelist well before the age someone should just be "sitting at home." Her first novel, Affect/Effect, was published by Double-Dragon Publishing in early 2008.

Being a Student Editorial Assistant for the University of Pittsburgh Press has taught Azia quite a bit about editing and the various voices and layers the art of writing has. She brings those skills to Blue Frog Gallery, making for a tight selection of writing pieces that keep the website and monthly newsletter strong and engaging

. In addition to her work at Blue Frog Gallery, Azia interns with Creative Loafing, Atlanta in the Events division where she’s published weekly. Her first feature in the magazine will be released this summer in the College Guide issue.
